What is your diagnosis?
This young man presented with over six month history of developing large asymptomatic hyperpigmented patches on the chest and upper limbs.

Hyperpigmented areas appear to be abnormal ones. This seems to be a case of extensive pityriasis versicolor.
Agreed. Needs a KOH mount to confirm.
